China conducts air and sea coordination drills

The Eastern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army conducted joint readiness patrols in the relevant waters and airspace over the East China Sea on Saturday, according to an official statement issued by a military spokesperson.

Spokesperson Xu Chenghua said the patrols were carried out as part of a routine arrangement in line with the annual training plan, with the objective of testing and improving the joint operational capabilities of participating forces.

He added that units under the theater command will continue to organize regular military operations based on evolving security requirements, in order to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and regional stability.

The statement did not provide additional operational details, but emphasized that such activities form part of ongoing readiness drills aimed at enhancing coordination across air and naval components.

Military analysts note that the Eastern Theater Command routinely conducts similar exercises in the East China Sea region as part of its preparedness strategy and long-term operational planning.
