Fuel prices drop in Pakistan, restrictions lifted

Islamabad (Lord Media): The Pakistani government has lifted several stringent restrictions and austerity measures following a significant reduction in petrol and diesel prices. According to a government notification, petrol prices have decreased by 74 rupees per litre, and diesel prices by 67 rupees per litre, bringing petrol to 299 rupees and diesel to 311 rupees per litre. This reduction is attributed to the decline in global oil prices and the end of conflict in the Middle East.

The government has also revoked the additional Friday holiday and the petrol cuts for government officials, while the decision to suspend 60% of government vehicles has been reversed. However, the mandate for shops and business centers to close by 9 PM will remain in effect.

Following the reduction in petroleum product prices, the Goods Transport Association has announced a 10% reduction in transport fares.

Previously, fluctuations in petrol prices in Pakistan were observed due to conflicts between the United States and Iran. However, with the recent peace agreement, oil prices have decreased, and the government will continue to take further steps towards economic stability.
