Islamabad (Lord Media): The outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is now posing a threat not only to Pakistan but also to global trade and regional connectivity, according to Turkish media. BLA’s attacks have turned Balochistan’s highways and trade corridors into dangerous zones, affecting economic and trade relations.
The report states that attacks on trains, highways, and freight vehicles are against the interests of the Baloch people, limiting employment opportunities and impacting investment.
Due to Gwadar Port and Balochistan’s geopolitical significance, the instability here has international repercussions. The United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom have already designated BLA as a terrorist organization.
BLA activities have disrupted infrastructure projects in Balochistan, leading to increased security costs. Attacks on the railway network, including the Jaffer Express, have suspended train services.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional trade corridors are also targeted by BLA attacks, damaging economic activities and regional integration.
According to the report, the ongoing instability in Balochistan is costing global supply chains and international consumers, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable peace in the region.
