Kyiv (Lord Media): A Russian missile strike on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, has resulted in the deaths of 24 people and injured over 100, according to Ukrainian officials. The attack on Monday targeted residential buildings in Kyiv using missiles and drones, occurring just a day before a crucial NATO summit.
The morning assault struck a multi-story building in Kyiv’s Podilskyi district, causing several floors to collapse. More than 10 explosions were reported during the ballistic missile alert.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack as ‘brutal’ and urged NATO countries to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses against Russian ballistic missiles. Zelensky stated that Kyiv had intercepted drones and cruise missiles but lacked adequate resources against ballistic missiles.
NATO Chief Mark Rutte, speaking in Ankara, emphasized the need for NATO allies and partners to provide Ukraine with necessary resources. Ukraine has also appealed to allies for missiles to support the American Patriot air defense system. The NATO meeting is scheduled for July 7-8 in Ankara.
