Cairo (Lord Media): Egyptian woman Amal Ismail Abdo has made history by earning a PhD at the age of 83. Amal received her doctorate in sociology from the Faculty of Arts at Mansoura University, awarded on July 5 for her research thesis.
Amal’s educational journey began at 38 when she passed her middle school exams, but it was interrupted due to a cancer diagnosis. After recovering, she resumed her studies, completing high school at 68.
In 2023, she obtained her master’s degree and continued towards her PhD. On July 6, Dakahlia Governor Major General Tarek Marzouk praised her achievement.
The governor presented Amal Abdo with the governorate’s shield, stating her success reflects determination and perseverance. Amal called the honor a great source of encouragement, saying her example is a message of hope for the younger generation.
