PCB decides to continue with current captains and coaches

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to make any major changes to the team management or leadership structure following the team’s disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup.

According to sources, the board has opted for continuity in its policies and will not replace captains or coaches in any format at this stage.

Officials said that under the existing arrangement, head coach Mike Hesson will continue to serve in accordance with his contract in both the ODI and T20 formats. In the T20 format, Salman Ali Agha will remain captain, while Shaheen Afridi has been given the green signal to continue leading the ODI side.

Sources added that instead of removing coaches or captains after defeats, the board intends to show confidence in the current leadership to maintain stability.

The resignation of selector Aleem Dar has been accepted by the board.

Meanwhile, following the resignation of Test head coach Azhar Mahmood, it has been decided to assign the role to former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who is expected to assume responsibilities upon returning from Abu Dhabi.

In addition, Director High Performance Centre Aaqib Javed and the selection committee will continue performing their duties as part of the existing cricket structure.
