UK gardener sets two world records in a day

London (Lord Media): A British amateur gardener, Graham Barrett, has set two world records in a single day by growing extraordinarily large garlic and peas. On June 25, Barrett presented his harvest at the Wargrave Nursery Plant Centre in Berkshire, where his ‘elephant garlic’ was found to weigh 3 pounds 13.7 ounces with a diameter of 7.5 inches. He was awarded the Guinness World Record for the heaviest elephant garlic.

Elephant garlic is significantly larger than regular garlic, often many times the size of traditional garlic. On the same day, Barrett achieved another accolade when his Swedish variety pea pod was recorded at 0.98 ounces, earning the title of the world’s heaviest snow pea.

Thus, the British gardener achieved two Guinness World Records in a single day through his remarkable horticultural efforts.
