Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif emphasized the use of modern technology to ensure transparency and strengthen food and drug safety in Pakistan during a ceremony in Lahore.
Addressing the event, he highlighted the establishment of the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority (PAFDA) as a key step in ensuring food security and maintaining hygiene standards. He described the authority as a future “center of excellence” for the region.
He praised the role of the Chief Minister in the project, calling it a major service to the nation. He also lauded efforts to reduce electricity costs for industries and the work of scientists and experts in establishing the regulatory framework.
The Prime Minister noted that the authority will play a central role in monitoring food, agricultural products, and medicines, providing forensic evidence against crimes, ensuring nutritional supply, and eliminating adulteration across Punjab and the country.
