Pakistani actress Hina Afridi has revealed that she turned down several high-profile drama offers before choosing to star in the serial Raja Rani.
Speaking as a guest on a recent web show, Afridi said she was offered multiple projects at the same time, including Iqtidar, Behroopiya, and another popular serial. She had to select only one, and the script of Raja Rani immediately caught her attention.
Afridi explained that she prefers portraying strong, brave female characters rather than the stereotypical “helpless girl” roles that dominate many Pakistani dramas. In Raja Rani, her character is depicted as courageous, even engaging in combat, which led her to accept the role and decline the other offers.
The actress emphasized that she could not portray a conventional, submissive female role, highlighting her commitment to choosing empowering characters.
