Pakistan’s each cricketer to get $100,000 reward if wins T20 World Cup

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi made a significant announcement on Sunday, stating that each player of the national team stands to receive $100,000, approximately Rs28 million, if the Green Shirts emerge victorious in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The tournament is set to be jointly held in the US and West Indies from June 1-29.

Naqvi conveyed this message during his visit to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, where the Babar Azam-led Pakistan squad commenced their national camp on Saturday, as per the cricket board’s statement.

Interacting with players and officials during his visit, Naqvi spent two hours with the team, engaging in discussions on strategy. He emphasized that the prize money held no comparison to the pride of lifting the trophy, expressing optimism in seeing the Pakistan flag raised high.

Encouraging players to perform without pressure and to compete vigorously, Naqvi assured them of his support regardless of the outcome. “Don’t care about anyone. Only play for Pakistan. Demonstrate teamwork on the field, and victory will be yours,” he conveyed.

Naqvi also underscored the importance of unity among players, expressing confidence in fast-bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s potential to shine in the tournament. He reminded the team of the nation’s expectations and urged them to fulfill them with their performance.

During the visit, special shirts were awarded to players for their achievements, with wicketkeeper-batter Mohamad Rizwan recognized for completing 3,000 T20 runs and pacer Naseem Shah for taking 100 T20 wickets.

Later in the day, Naqvi hosted a lunch for the players and officials at a local hotel, fostering camaraderie within the team.

As Pakistan prepares for the T20 tours to Ireland and England later this month as part of their World Cup preparations, all-rounder Imad Wasim expressed his focus on handling pressure on the field and reiterated the team’s ultimate goal of clinching the T20 World Cup title.
