Senior Pakistani actor Ayub Khoso has revealed that filming a romantic scene with Atiqa Odho for the 1990s hit drama Dasht was a challenging experience for him.
Speaking as a guest on a private TV program, Khoso responded to questions from fans, including one about his experience shooting romantic scenes in Dasht. He said that due to his appearance, people often assumed he was a strict and serious person, which made performing intimate or romantic sequences more difficult.
“I remember filming a romantic scene with Atiqa Odho. It was very challenging because, culturally, as a Baloch, my understanding of romance is very different. Director Tariq Miraj had a deep, poetic vision for romance and wanted me to hold her hand and admire her beauty, which was not easy for me,” Khoso explained.
He added that he even requested the director to avoid filming such scenes, highlighting the difficulties actors sometimes face when balancing cultural perceptions with the demands of storytelling.
