Karachi (Lord Media): A cargo plane of K2 Airways en route from Sharjah to Karachi crashed into the sea near Karachi, resulting in the deaths of all five crew members, the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed. The incident occurred when the Boeing 737, carrying cargo from Sharjah, lost contact during the night.
Authorities stated that all crew members were Pakistani nationals. Aviation officials reported that at 9:18 PM, K2 Airways’ flight reported a navigation system malfunction, prompting immediate guidance from Karachi’s control tower.
Three minutes later, at 9:21 PM, the aircraft was seen descending rapidly on radar. Shortly thereafter, contact was completely lost approximately 155 nautical miles west of Karachi over the sea.
The Pakistan Aviation Authority activated an emergency response center and launched a major search and rescue operation in the sea. Rescue agencies later confirmed that none of the crew members survived.
The Civil Aviation Authority identified the deceased as Captain Muhammad Rizwan Idris, First Officer Faisal Jatoi, Flight Engineers Muhammad Hamid and Muhammad Arif Siddiqui, and Load Master Muhammad Taufiq Khan.
