Iran-US tensions rise after tanker attack near Hormuz

Tehran (Lord Media): Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated following an attack on an oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz. The incident occurred close to the Gulf of Oman, though independent verification is yet to be confirmed.

The Iranian state broadcaster reported that the oil tanker was attempting to pass with the support of the U.S. Navy and was attacked despite warnings. The broadcaster clarified that the Iranian government has neither confirmed nor denied this claim.

U.S. officials have accused Iran, stating that the commercial oil tanker was attacked with an unidentified missile-like weapon, causing a fire on the vessel. According to U.S. officials, another commercial ship was also affected, but no casualties have been reported.

Iran has not yet officially responded to the U.S. allegations. Experts warn that this incident could be concerning for global energy supplies, as a significant portion of the world’s crude oil passes through this maritime route.
