Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday launched the “Prime Minister Sehat Card” to provide citizens with access to health facilities.
Addressing the ceremony in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said the government is bringing healthcare services to people’s doorsteps, stressing that access to medical care is a fundamental right. He congratulated Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, the Health Secretary, and their team for introducing the initiative.
He highlighted the disparity in access to healthcare, noting that while the elite can afford expensive treatment for themselves and their children, ordinary citizens often struggle to provide even basic care. “Healthcare and treatment are the right of every Pakistani,” he said.
The Prime Minister added that the Health Ministry and its team would deliver treatment services through a third-party system, ensuring proper checks and balances. He emphasized that a healthy population is essential for success in all fields of national development.
