Germany to increase Pakistani students number to 10,000

Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan held a high-level meeting with German Ambassador Anka Lepel at the Prime Minister’s Office to discuss avenues of bilateral cooperation and youth development initiatives.

During the meeting, both sides explored potential areas of collaboration with a focus on education, skills development, vocational training, and international opportunities for Pakistani youth. Chairman PMYP commended the Ambassador’s distinguished diplomatic career and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening youth engagement and expanding global partnerships.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan provided a detailed briefing on the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, with special emphasis on the National Youth Council and its advisory role in shaping youth-centered policies. He said engaging youth in national policymaking is a key government priority and highlighted the Council’s efforts to empower young Pakistanis through participation in decision-making processes. The discussion also covered the Green Youth Movement, a PMYP initiative aimed at addressing climate change and promoting environmental awareness among youth.

German Ambassador Ms. Anka Lepel highlighted Germany’s strong interest in Pakistan’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector and announced plans to increase the number of Pakistani students in Germany from 6,000 to 10,000, reflecting Germany’s commitment to academic and professional exchange.

The Ambassador appreciated the initiative and commended Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan for his active and impactful role as a youth activist, acknowledging his efforts in promoting youth empowerment, productive employment, and skill development.

Both sides agreed to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation in youth education, vocational training, skills development, and international exposure, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to global partnerships and expanding opportunities for the next generation.
