The Customs Enforcement in Peshawar has foiled multiple smuggling attempts, seizing goods worth Rs74.4 million across the division, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reported.

In Dera Ismail Khan, customs officials recovered 12,200 kilograms of raisins, 4,021 packs of foreign cigarettes, and 170 tires from three trucks. They also seized non-duty-paid cosmetics worth Rs2.4 million from passenger vehicles in the area.

In other parts of the Peshawar division, two non-duty-paid vehicles, a Toyota Vitz and a Toyota Aqua, were confiscated. In Nowshera, a pickup truck was stopped, and 2,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes were recovered.

All smuggled goods and the vehicles used for transportation have been seized under the Customs Act 1969. The FBR reiterated its commitment to curbing smuggling nationwide and safeguarding the country’s economy.
