The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially issued notifications for the successful candidates of the recent by-elections. A total of five National Assembly and seven Punjab Assembly winners were notified.
For the National Assembly, the ECP confirmed the victories of Babar Nawaz Khan from NA-18 Haripur, Daniyal Ahmed from NA-104 Faisalabad, Muhammad Noman from NA-129 Lahore, Muhammad Tufail from NA-143, and Mehmood Qadir Khan from NA-185. However, in NA-96 Faisalabad, although Bilal Badr, brother of Talal Chaudhry, had initially won, his notification was withheld due to a violation of the election code of conduct.
On the Punjab Assembly side, notifications were issued for Mian Sultan Ali (PP-73 Sargodha), Ali Haider Noor (PP-87 Mianwali), Azad Ali Tabassum (PP-98 Faisalabad), Muhammad Tahir Parvez (PP-115 Faisalabad), Ahmed Shahryar (PP-116 Faisalabad), Muhammad Hanif (PP-203 Sahiwal), and Mian Alamdar Abbas (PP-206 Multan).
The results underline the dominance of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which secured 12 of the 13 notified seats, while the remaining seat went to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The outcomes highlight PML-N’s strong performance in the recent by-elections at both the national and provincial levels.
