Ministry rejects Pakistan Hockey Federation’s claim of self-held elections

The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination has dismissed claims by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) that it will conduct its elections independently.

According to officials, following directives from the standing committee on inter-provincial coordination, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has decided that PHF elections will be held under independent supervision.

The elections will be overseen by a three-member independent election commission, comprising the chairman and two members appointed by the PSB, with one member nominated by the PHF. The Federation of International Hockey (FIH) and the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) will also be requested to monitor the electoral process.

A scrutiny committee will verify the list of clubs submitted by the PHF to the standing committee. The committee will include representatives from the PSB, provincial hockey associations, provincial sports boards, and relevant district sports offices.

Following the official notification, the scrutiny committee will release its schedule. Standards for verifying the legal status of hockey clubs and associations will be approved by the PSB in consultation with provincial sports boards.
