Pakistan, Saudi Arabia agree to boost security cooperation

Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, in Riyadh, where both sides discussed strengthening security cooperation between the two countries.

According to official details, the meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between the interior ministries of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The two leaders also discussed the longstanding issue of the legal status of Rohingya Muslims living in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Interior Minister thanked Mohsin Naqvi for Pakistan’s role and efforts related to resolving the matter.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif also offered condolences to the families of the Federal Constabulary personnel who were martyred in a recent attack on the force’s headquarters in Pakistan.

During the meeting, both countries agreed to launch training exchange programs for police and paramilitary forces to improve professional capacity. It was also decided that the next meeting of the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Interior Ministries Working Group will be held next month.

Mohsin Naqvi said that Saudi Arabia is like a second home for every Pakistani and added that Pakistan takes pride in its long-standing and strong relations with the Kingdom.
