The Lahore High Court on Monday saw a brief hearing on the bail petition of YouTuber Saqib Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, in a case related to the alleged promotion of a gambling application. Justice Farooq Haider recused himself from hearing the matter and referred the case to the Chief Justice for re-assignment to another bench.
According to court details, the judge returned the case file to the Chief Justice’s Office with a note requesting that the petition be fixed before a different bench.
An official from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) appeared before the court and submitted the investigation record. The petition lists NCCIA and other relevant authorities as respondents.
Representing the accused, Advocate Imran Chadhar informed the court that his client had been arrested at the airport while travelling abroad. The petition argues that NCCIA did not issue any prior notice or summons before making the arrest. It states that Ducky Bhai remained in the agency’s custody for 10 days on physical remand.
The YouTuber has sought post-arrest bail in the case registered against him for allegedly promoting a betting application through his social media platforms.
