Renowned Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, 92, has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after developing chest discomfort and health complications linked to a viral infection and age-related ailments.
According to Indian media reports, the veteran actor was taken to hospital two days ago after his condition required medical attention. Doctors have attributed his health issues to a combination of a viral infection, a cardiac condition, and complications arising from his advanced age.
Reports further indicate that while Prem Chopra remains under close medical supervision, he has not been shifted to the ICU. His condition is said to be stable, though recovery is expected to be slow due to age factors.
Hospital sources expressed hope that he will be discharged soon once his health improves sufficiently.
Prem Chopra, known for his iconic negative roles in Indian cinema, has acted in more than 350 films over a career spanning several decades.
