Top Pakistani leaders, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Defense Minister, and Interior Minister, have strongly condemned the suicide bombing outside the G-11 Islamabad courthouse that killed 12 people and injured dozens.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the attack as a terrorist act carried out by Indian-backed proxies, Fitanah Al-Khawarij and Fitanah Al-Hindustan, targeting innocent civilians. In a statement, he expressed condolences to the families of the deceased, prayed for their patience, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. He directed that the wounded receive the best possible medical care and called for a thorough investigation into the incident, vowing that those responsible would be brought to justice.
Sharif also highlighted that similar attacks are being carried out from Afghan territory under Indian influence, citing a recent incident in Wana where children were targeted. He emphasized that Pakistan will not allow the blood of innocent citizens to go unavenged and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to eradicating terrorism. The Prime Minister urged the international community to condemn India’s alleged proxy operations aimed at destabilizing the region, describing the recent attacks as exposing the “grim face of Indian state-sponsored terrorism” in South Asia.
President Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the attack and expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured, described the attackers as hostile to Pakistan’s peace and stability, and emphasized the need to eliminate all terrorists operating with foreign backing. The President praised the sacrifices of law enforcement agencies in maintaining security.
Other political leaders echoed the condemnation, calling for heightened security measures and accountability for the perpetrators.
