Pakistan, Sri Lanka agree to boost anti-drug cooperation

Islamabad (Lord Media): Pakistan and Sri Lanka have agreed to enhance cooperation in anti-drug efforts and immigration. Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi met Sri Lankan Interior Minister Ananda Wijayapala at the United Nations headquarters to discuss various areas of mutual collaboration.

During the meeting, both sides agreed on effective coordination in anti-drug measures and decided to enhance mutual cooperation in police training.

The ministers also agreed to strengthen collaboration to prevent illegal immigration and the travel of passengers using fake passports. It was decided that the heads of immigration from both countries would immediately establish contact.

Discussions also included a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on preventing criminal networks and money laundering.

The interior ministers agreed to form a joint working group to boost cooperation between the ministries of both countries, and decided to prioritize resolving visa-related issues.
