Islamabad (Lord Media): The Islamabad High Court has issued a written order on petitions challenging the solitary confinement of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. The court emphasized that serious allegations of solitary confinement and unlawful treatment in prison cannot be ignored.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro released a 10-page written order on the petitions filed by Aleema Khanum and Mubashra Maneka. The order stated that allegations of solitary confinement and unlawful treatment in prison cannot be overlooked, nor can they be dismissed without notice to the other party or a report from jail authorities.
The decision clarified that neither the PTI founder nor Bushra Bibi has been sentenced to solitary confinement. The NAB prosecutor informed the court that the allegations of solitary confinement are false and politically motivated.
The Islamabad High Court has requested a report from jail authorities on the condition of both detainees and the facilities provided to them according to jail rules. The next hearing is scheduled for August 6.
