Pakistan invited to proposed Gaza Peace Board under Trump’s peace plan

Pakistan has been invited to join a proposed international Peace Board under a Gaza Peace Plan (GPP) put forward by US President Donald Trump, marking what officials describe as a significant diplomatic development amid efforts to end the war in Gaza and support post-conflict stabilization and reconstruction.

According to informed sources, the proposed Peace Board is envisaged as a multilateral mechanism to support the implementation of a ceasefire, ensure unhindered humanitarian access, restore basic services and advance a longer-term political settlement in the Gaza Strip. Invitations have been extended to several world leaders, including the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, to contribute to post-ceasefire stability, transparent aid delivery, reconstruction and inclusive political engagement.

Officials said Pakistan’s inclusion reflects growing international confidence in Islamabad’s diplomatic credibility and its role as a constructive, solution-oriented state. They described the invitation as the outcome of sustained state diplomacy, effective international outreach and coordinated civil–military engagement on regional and global issues.

Pakistan’s participation, sources emphasized, is not bloc-driven but rooted in long-standing and principled positions on the Palestinian issue. These include support for an immediate ceasefire, protection of Palestinian civilians, unhindered humanitarian assistance, post-war reconstruction and the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

Diplomatic circles said the proposed framework would allow Pakistan to move beyond declaratory positions and play a more practical and influential role in shaping fair, balanced and humane international responses to the crisis in Gaza Strip. They added that such engagement could strengthen collective efforts toward justice, peace and humanitarian responsibility in one of the world’s most protracted conflicts.

While details of the Peace Board’s structure and timeline have yet to be finalised, the invitation is being viewed in Islamabad as a notable recognition of Pakistan’s consistent advocacy for peace and its willingness to contribute constructively to post-conflict recovery and political stabilization efforts. — LORD
