11 terrorists killed in separate intelligence-based operations in NW Pakistan

Pakistan’s security forces killed 11 Khwarij linked to the Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Thursday, as part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign aimed at eliminating foreign-sponsored militancy.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation was conducted by security forces in North Waziristan district following intelligence reports about the presence of Khwarij elements in the area. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militant hideout, resulting in an intense exchange of fire in which six Khwarij were killed.

In a separate operation in Kurram district, police and security forces jointly carried out another intelligence-based action. Five Khwarij were neutralised during the ensuing firefight, officials said, describing the operation as a coordinated effort to disrupt militant networks operating in the region.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who, according to authorities, were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities, including attacks against security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as targeted killings of innocent civilians. Officials said the recovered material further confirmed the militants’ operational role and external sponsorship.

Security sources said sanitisation operations are under way in both areas to ensure the complete clearance of any remaining Indian-sponsored Khwarij elements. They reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their relentless counterterrorism drive under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

The authorities stressed that the campaign will continue at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country and to ensure lasting peace and security. — LORD
