Namibia Captain criticizes lack of floodlight practice ahead of India clash

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus has raised concerns over lack of practice under floodlights ahead of their T20 World Cup clash against India.

Speaking to the media, Erasmus said that despite the match being scheduled at night, his team was not given the opportunity to practice under lights. “I don’t understand why this is happening. I believe Indian players have had two sessions under floodlights, Canada’s team is training at night—they are doing whatever they want,” he said.

Erasmus added that Namibia lacks the proper infrastructure for floodlight matches, yet the team was still not allowed sufficient practice time. “Most of our players are not used to playing under lights and have rarely had night sessions. Even here in India, we were only allowed to practice from 2 PM to 3 PM,” he said. Despite these challenges, the captain vowed that Namibia would fight for their country. The India-Namibia match is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM in Delhi.
