The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selectors have prepared a preliminary fifteen-member squad for the three-match T20 series against Australia in Lahore and the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
The official announcement of the national team will be made soon after approval from the PCB chairman, with Salman Ali Agha set to lead the side.
Before the World Cup, Pakistan will play a three-match T20 series against Australia, likely hosted at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Following the series, both teams will proceed to the World Cup campaign.
According to sources, the PCB selection committee, in consultation with head coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha, has finalized the proposed squad. The preliminary list includes Saeem Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Faheem Ashraf.
One player between Khawaja Nafees and Usman Tariq is expected to join the squad, with Usman Tariq potentially included as a surprise addition. Reserve players may include Wasim Junior, Abdul Samad, and Khawaja Nafees.
The PCB chairman’s approval is expected shortly, after which the team announcement could be made at any time.
