Punjab Police and the Counter-Terrorism Department successfully thwarted a major terrorist attack on a border check post in Tunsa.
According to officials, 15 to 20 militants attempted a coordinated assault on a police post along the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border. The attackers, armed with rocket launchers and heavy weapons, approached the post in small groups from multiple directions.
Police personnel, remaining alert and aided by thermal imaging cameras, were able to detect the militants in time. Security forces responded with machine gun and mortar fire, effectively repelling the attack and preventing any breach.
Authorities confirmed that the operation neutralized the immediate threat, highlighting the preparedness and vigilance of the border security forces.
