South Waziristan: Security forces successfully eliminated 13 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan district, the military’s media wing (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
The operation, conducted between December 24 and 25, targeted the reported presence of militants in the region. “Security forces effectively engaged the terrorist hideout, resulting in the elimination of 13 militants,” the ISPR stated.
According to the statement, the neutralized terrorists were actively involved in numerous attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent civilians.
A sanitization operation is currently underway to clear the area of any remaining militants, reflecting Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism. “The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out this scourge from the country,” the statement added.
On Sunday, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to eliminating “Fitna Al Khwarij.” He made these remarks during an interaction with officers and troops during his visit to Wana, South Waziristan.
The visit followed a tragic attack in the Makeen area of South Waziristan, where 16 soldiers were martyred at a security forces’ check post.
This operation underscores Pakistan’s resolve to ensure peace and security in the region, with security forces remaining steadfast in their fight against terrorism.
