Moon sighted, Eid-ul-Fitr to be celeberated on Wednesday in Pakistan

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced Eid ul Fitr for Wednesday, April 10th, after confirming sightings of the Shawwal moon. This aligns with celebrations in several other countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and Australia.

Committee Ensures Nationwide Cohesion

The committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, received moon sighting testimonies from various locations like Karachi, Dir, and Faisalabad. This nationwide effort ensured a unified Eid celebration across Pakistan. Maulana Azad congratulated the nation and emphasized the message of unity for the Islamic world.

India and Bangladesh Celebrate a Day Later

While Pakistan celebrates Eid with many nations, India and Bangladesh will observe it on Thursday due to unconfirmed moon sightings in their regions.

Clear Skies Aid Moon Sighting

The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted partly cloudy or fair weather, facilitating moon sighting.

Committee Strives for Unified Celebrations

This announcement follows the committee’s efforts to prevent discrepancies. Maulana Azad met with religious leaders and addressed concerns, aiming for a unified Eid celebration throughout Pakistan. Previously, some regions, like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, observed Eid on different dates due to independent moon sighting committees.
