LAHORE (Lord Media): A new tax deduction system for digital payments has been implemented in Punjab, ensuring direct transfer of taxes to the government from e-payments or card transactions. According to a spokesperson from the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), this initiative aims to ensure transparent tax collection and enhance the efficiency of the payment system.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson stated that a tax rate of only 5% has been set for services provided by beauty parlors, salons, fashion designers, cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery, skin treatment, and laser treatment centers. Similarly, event management, tour operators, gymnasiums, and laundry services will incur an 8% tax.<\/p>\n

According to the PRA, the hotel and restaurant sector will face a 16% tax deduction on cash payments for services, while payments made through credit cards or other digital means will be taxed at 8%. This effectively reduces the tax by 50% for hotel and restaurant sectors when using credit card and digital payments.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson for the Punjab Revenue Authority emphasized that taxes paid by the public enable timely completion of government welfare and development projects. Citizens are urged to prioritize digital payments for secure tax transfers and to always request a proper receipt for every purchase or service.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson further advised that complaints against food operators who do not provide proper receipts should be filed with the Punjab Revenue Authority, as transparent tax payments are crucial for the province’s development and prosperity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
