TEHRAN (Lord Media): Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, has contacted Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, via telephone. According to Iranian media, the conversation focused on the military tensions between the US and Iran in the Gulf region.<\/p>\n
The Iranian state news agency IRNA reported that Foreign Minister Araghchi accused the US of not adhering to the interim Islamabad reconciliation agreement brokered by Pakistan. He labeled recent US attacks as violations of the UN Charter and the reconciliation agreement.<\/p>\n
Araghchi highlighted that statements from US officials indicate Washington’s deviation from the agreement, exacerbating tensions in the region. He stressed that Iran will take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and national security, warning the US against further adventurism.<\/p>\n
Pakistan played a mediating role in negotiations between the US and Iran, resulting in an interim peace agreement. However, recent tensions have jeopardized this agreement.
