Lahore (Lord Media): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s leader Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman criticized the Punjab government, accusing it of deceiving the public through various schemes. Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, he emphasized that countries are governed by policies, not schemes.<\/p>\n
Hafiz Naeem highlighted the disparity in LPG prices, stating that while the official price is 241 rupees, the public is forced to pay 500 rupees. He accused the government of making the entire nation dependent on gas cylinders.<\/p>\n
He further mentioned that although petroleum prices were reduced by 1 rupee and 97 paisas last week, the poor are still burdened with taxes on every liter of petrol.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that 90% of Pakistan’s population uses motorcycles and pays over 100 rupees in taxes per liter of petrol. He stressed the need for protests.<\/p>\n
Hafiz Naeem criticized government officials for owning large vehicles but failing to perform their duties. He suggested that if FBR officials improved their work, the tax burden on the poor could be reduced.<\/p>\n
He also mentioned the plight of farmers, noting the lack of fixed fertilizer prices and a historic decline in cotton cultivation.<\/p>\n
