Muzaffarabad (Lord Media): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has accused the leaders of the banned Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee of receiving funds from India, killing law enforcement personnel, and damaging state property. The government has demanded that they surrender to the law. Information Secretary Muhammad Rashid Hanif and Police Spokesperson DIG Irfan Masood Kashfi revealed in a press conference that the committee caused a loss of 15 billion rupees to the state, and that the movement for public rights has been hijacked by miscreants.<\/p>\n
According to the government, cheap flour and electricity are being provided to the public, and the impression of withdrawing basic rights is incorrect. The Information Secretary stated that the July 5 strike call was rejected by both the public and traders.<\/p>\n
He further added that the banned committee is facing restrictions due to past violent incidents and is attempting to disrupt elections. A total of 79 cases have been registered, and anti-state elements are being funded by India.<\/p>\n
The press conference disclosed that the committee attacked government offices, police, and administration, set government vehicles on fire, and several individuals were killed or injured.<\/p>\n
The AJK police spokesperson stated that lethal weapons were recovered from 17 protestors, and the allegations of firing on July 4 are baseless. The state challenges the presentation of authentic footage.<\/p>\n
According to police, the firing in Rawalakot was carried out by armed individuals within the crowd, while protestors claimed that law enforcement agencies conducted a crackdown.<\/p>\n
The police spokesperson further mentioned that firing in Dadyal on July 5 was instigated by leader Khawaja Mehran, resulting in injuries to five security personnel. The action committee leadership has been urged to surrender to the law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
