Washington (Lord Media): Ibrahim Khaldun Helmi, a businessman wanted for the largest medical fraud in U.S. history, has been arrested in Turkiye and extradited to the United States. FBI Director Kash Patel announced that this operation is part of one of the largest healthcare fraud investigations in U.S. history, with the suspect accused of defrauding the Medicare program of 3.7 billion U.S. dollars.<\/p>\n
Ibrahim Khaldun, from Delray Beach, Florida, allegedly operated companies that appeared to be legitimate medical supply providers. According to federal prosecutors, this was a scheme to defraud taxpayers.<\/p>\n
The suspect submitted fake bills to Medicare for knee and wrist supports, wound mattresses, and other medical supplies. Astonishingly, many of the patients for whom the supplies were ordered did not even exist.<\/p>\n
After a year on the run, the suspect was captured in Turkiye and extradited to the U.S. in a special operation. The FBI Director thanked the Turkish government and the U.S. ambassador for their efforts in making this arrest possible.<\/p>\n
