Islamabad (Lord Media): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the cessation of previous austerity measures for government employees. The Cabinet Division has issued an official notification rescinding fuel-saving initiatives at the government level. According to the new directive, the Friday holiday for government employees has been abolished, while officers are now allowed full petrol access and 60% of government vehicles can be reused.<\/p>\n
However, restrictions on the operating hours of commercial centers and business activities will remain in place. As per the notification, shops, markets, and shopping malls must close by 9 PM, while wedding halls are required to conclude events by 10 PM. Restaurants and cafes will shut by 11 PM, although home delivery and takeaway services are exempt from this restriction.<\/p>\n
Additionally, pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories, bakeries, milk shops, and tandoors will be free from time constraints.
