Islamabad (Lord Media): The National Highways and Motorway Police have announced new safety measures to ensure secure travel on national highways and motorways. According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, all passenger and freight vehicles are now required to carry fire extinguishers. This decision is in response to the increasing risk of fires during accidents, aiming to protect human lives and property.<\/p>\n
The Motorway Police have launched a nationwide fire safety awareness campaign, which will continue until June 24. During this campaign, drivers and transporters will be educated on the importance, use, and functionality of fire extinguishers.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson emphasized that having functional and quality fire extinguishers in vehicles is essential for the protection of life and property. Drivers are advised to check the functionality and expiry of their fire extinguishers before traveling. Non-functional or expired equipment will not be accepted.<\/p>\n
