London (Lord Media): The UK government has announced a ban on social media use for children under 16. Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that the decision aims to redirect children’s focus towards education and health. He added that a regulatory body is in place to take action against major tech companies.<\/p>\n

Starmer mentioned that regulations concerning gaming services and live streaming platforms are being tightened to ensure the ban’s effectiveness. The government is fully prepared and confident in this initiative.<\/p>\n

Last month, the Prime Minister’s government initiated consultations on this issue to shift children’s attention from mobile phone and laptop screens to education and health.<\/p>\n
