{"id":74357,"date":"2026-05-09T18:41:41","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T13:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chinaurdu.com\/eng\/?p=74357"},"modified":"2026-05-09T18:41:41","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T13:41:41","slug":"petrol-diesel-prices-increased-as-government-raises-levy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chinaurdu.com\/eng\/?p=74357","title":{"rendered":"Petrol, diesel prices increased as government raises levy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The government has increased petroleum product prices across the country from today, while also raising the petroleum levy on petrol and diesel, adding further burden on consumers.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources, the petroleum levy on petrol has been increased by Rs13.91 per litre, taking the total levy to Rs117.41 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the levy on high-speed diesel has also been raised by Rs13.91 per litre, bringing the total levy on diesel to Rs42.60 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>The increase came into effect after the Petroleum Division issued an official notification late last night, with revised prices applicable from midnight.<\/p>\n<p>As per the notification, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs15 per litre to Rs414.58, compared to the previous rate of Rs399.58 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, the price of petrol has gone up by Rs14.92 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs414.78 per litre against the earlier price of Rs399.86 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>The latest increase comes days after the government revised petroleum prices on April 29, when the price of high-speed diesel was raised by Rs19.39 per litre to Rs399.58 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>The fresh hike is expected to further intensify inflationary pressure and increase transportation and commodity costs across the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government has increased petroleum product prices across the country from today, while also raising the petroleum levy on petrol and diesel, adding further burden on consumers.
