Chief Justice of Pakistan held an interactive consultative meeting with vice chairmen and executive committee heads of the Pakistan Bar Council and provincial bar councils at the Supreme Court of Pakistan as part of ongoing stakeholder engagement on justice sector reforms.<\/p>\n
According to official details released on Thursday, the meeting was attended by senior representatives of bar councils from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Islamabad, along with officials from the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan and the Federal Judicial Academy.<\/p>\n
During the session, bar council representatives appreciated the consultative process and acknowledged ongoing reform initiatives within the justice sector.<\/p>\n
Participants stressed the need for enhanced capacity-building opportunities for young lawyers and discussed issues related to verification of academic degrees by the Higher Education Commission, periodic rotation of judges and concerns regarding conflicting judgments on similar legal matters.<\/p>\n
In response, the chief justice briefed participants about Continuing Legal Education programmes being conducted by the Federal Judicial Academy and informed them that the academy\u2019s training calendar is available through its digital platform.<\/p>\n
He also shared that a dedicated online course for young lawyers has been developed and provided to bar councils to encourage broader participation and professional development.<\/p>\n
The chief justice urged legal bodies to ensure effective utilisation of these initiatives and confirmed that physical training programmes for young lawyers would continue across the country.<\/p>\n
He announced that a specialised training programme for lawyers from Sindh would be organised at the Federal Judicial Academy in July 2026.<\/p>\n
The chief justice further requested bar representatives to share examples of conflicting judgments with the Law and Justice Commission for appropriate review and consideration.<\/p>\n
Other institutional and administrative matters raised during the meeting would be addressed at relevant forums, he added.<\/p>\n
The meeting concluded with both the bench and the bar reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening access to justice, legal empowerment and the development of an independent, responsive and inclusive justice system in Pakistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
