The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing hosted the third edition of the Pakistan Professionals & Students Forum (PSPF) 2026 under the theme \u201cSTEM Connect: Innovation, Mentorship, and Collaboration,\u201d bringing together Pakistani students, researchers, academics and professionals from across China.<\/p>\n
According to details, the event focused on strengthening networking, mentorship and collaboration in key scientific and technological fields while promoting academic and professional engagement between Pakistan and China.<\/p>\n
The forum featured seven STEM-focused mentorship clusters covering electrical and control systems, chemical and materials sciences, artificial intelligence and computer science, biological and agricultural sciences, civil and environmental engineering, earth sciences, and mechanical, aerospace and energy disciplines.<\/p>\n
Participants engaged in interactive discussions related to academic growth, research collaboration, career development and emerging opportunities under Pakistan-China cooperation initiatives.<\/p>\n
Addressing the forum, Pakistan\u2019s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi highlighted the embassy\u2019s continued efforts to establish meaningful platforms connecting Pakistani students and professionals across China.<\/p>\n
He said the initiative reflects the embassy\u2019s broader focus on human capital development, innovation and skills partnerships between the two countries.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Hashmi stressed the importance of aligning academic and professional development with evolving industry requirements and informed participants that the embassy is actively promoting cooperation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).<\/p>\n
He said sector-specific engagements are being pursued in agriculture, electrical equipment, home appliances, battery and power storage systems, as well as ICT and telecommunications.<\/p>\n
The ambassador also announced that an ICT-focused symposium will be held on May 16, followed by a Business-to-Business Investment Conference on ICT in Hangzhou on May 24.<\/p>\n
Highlighting practical outcomes of embassy initiatives, he revealed that a previously organised job fair had facilitated employment opportunities for Pakistani students with Chinese companies operating in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
He further informed participants that the embassy is developing an AI-based matchmaking platform aimed at connecting Pakistani students with major Chinese state-owned and private enterprises for internships, employment and professional collaboration opportunities.<\/p>\n
The event also marked the formal launch of STEM mentorship clusters intended to ensure continued engagement between mentors and mentees through regular follow-up sessions.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Hashmi appreciated the active participation of students and professionals and thanked mentors for voluntarily sharing their expertise and guidance.<\/p>\n
