Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Musadik Malik on Monday held a high-level meeting with President of the Institute of Finance and Sustainability China Ma Jun in Islamabad, focusing on green finance, climate innovation and sustainable development strategies.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Ma Jun briefed the minister on China\u2019s Green Accelerator Program, launched in 2016, which integrates 35 key policy recommendations into a unified framework aimed at scaling climate-friendly economic growth.<\/p>\n
He highlighted that China has developed one of the world\u2019s largest green financing ecosystems, estimated at around USD 7 trillion, and currently leads global production in renewable energy technologies, manufacturing approximately 70 percent of wind and solar equipment and nearly 60 percent of electric vehicles worldwide.<\/p>\n
According to the discussion, the Green Accelerator initiative focuses on creating bankable green projects by combining technology, finance, carbon markets and structured project design to ensure commercial viability and scalability of climate solutions.<\/p>\n
Both sides exchanged views on the practical application of green technologies across different regions, including biochar production from agricultural waste in Bangladesh, precision irrigation systems in China and Uzbekistan, and sustainable desert farming initiatives in Abu Dhabi. These examples were discussed as models for adapting innovation to local environmental and economic conditions.<\/p>\n
Federal Minister Musadik Malik briefed the Chinese delegation on Pakistan\u2019s upcoming \u201cGreen Fields\u201d initiative, which aims to connect young entrepreneurs engaged in green ventures with domestic and international investors.<\/p>\n
The initiative is designed to promote green entrepreneurship in Pakistan and provide youth with opportunities to actively contribute to climate resilience and sustainable development.<\/p>\n
Musadik Malik appreciated China\u2019s leadership in green finance and clean technology development, describing it as a key reference point for developing countries transitioning toward sustainable economies.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that Pakistan is eager to strengthen international partnerships and adopt global best practices to accelerate its shift toward a greener and more sustainable economic framework.<\/p>\n
