China has formally submitted its objections and recommendations to the European Commission regarding a draft revision of the European Union\u2019s Cybersecurity Act, expressing what it called \u201cserious concerns\u201d over potential discriminatory provisions affecting Chinese firms.<\/p>\n
According to the Ministry of Commerce, spokesperson He Yongqian said at a regular press briefing that the EU should give \u201cserious consideration\u201d to China\u2019s comments and proposed amendments to the draft law.<\/p>\n
She warned that if Chinese companies face discriminatory treatment under the revised framework, Beijing would respond in line with its Foreign Trade Law and related regulations on industrial and supply chain security to protect the legitimate interests of its enterprises.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson also reiterated that dialogue and cooperation remain the appropriate channels for resolving differences between China and the European Union.<\/p>\n
