The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has accelerated education sector reforms, with Chief Minister Sohail Afridi chairing a high-level meeting to review progress and outline future initiatives.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the chief minister directed the release of Rs500 million for the establishment of an interdisciplinary research centre in the province. The meeting also agreed on setting up community schools in remote areas to rapidly improve literacy rates.<\/p>\n
Expansion of the double-shift school programme was approved, along with the introduction of courses in information technology and artificial intelligence. Officials were instructed to convene detailed sessions and finalize an implementation roadmap at the earliest.<\/p>\n
Afridi said that over the past five to six months, special focus had been given to education and health, yielding positive results. He noted that both sectors are directly linked to public welfare.<\/p>\n
The chief minister reiterated that the provincial government is investing in human development in line with the vision of Imran Khan, adding that comprehensive transformation of the education sector remains a top priority to ensure no child is deprived of the right to education.<\/p>\n
The meeting expressed satisfaction over progress on key reforms, including the e-transfer policy, uniform curriculum, semester system, monitoring mechanisms, teacher training, school-based assessment, virtual education, and AI-related courses.<\/p>\n
