The government has launched an expanded phase of the Green Pakistan Initiative aimed at converting barren land into cultivable farmland through modern agricultural practices and investment-driven development.<\/p>\n
The initiative is also attracting growing participation from overseas Pakistanis, who are increasingly investing in the project to support agricultural transformation in the country.<\/p>\n
CEO of Yellow Green Farm Ghulam Mustafa, who has relocated to Pakistan with his family, said he is actively contributing to the promotion of modern farming techniques under the initiative. He described the long-term agricultural project as a unique and sustainable opportunity, noting that such large-scale prospects are rarely available even on private land.<\/p>\n
Local farmer Muhammad Abdullah Liaqat said that 17,000 acres of land have been brought under cultivation through the program, helping expand agricultural activity and create employment opportunities at the local level. He added that modern agriculture has been introduced through Agri Malls, where seeds, fertilizers and pesticides are made available under one roof.<\/p>\n
President of the Farmers\u2019 Union Khalid Mahmood Khokhar said the initiative has become essential in view of Pakistan\u2019s growing population. He highlighted that modern irrigation techniques such as drip irrigation, pivot systems and sprinklers are being used to ensure efficient water management.<\/p>\n
He further noted that modern machinery and advanced farming methods are being promoted to shift traditional farmers towards technology-based agriculture.<\/p>\n
