Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on Islamic countries to prevent Israel from using their lands against Muslims, according to a statement posted on the presidential office\u2019s website on Friday.<\/p>\n
Iran considers all Muslim states as its brothers, seeks lasting peace and stability in the West Asia region, and insists on safeguarding its people\u2019s rights within international law, Pezeshkian told visiting Pakistan Army Chief Asim on Thursday, according to the statement.<\/p>\n
Pezeshkian noted that Iran\u2019s targeting of U.S. military bases in the region during the war with the United States and Israel was an action taken within the framework of defense necessities and in response to the conditions imposed on the country.<\/p>\n
He condemned the U.S. and Israeli \u201ccriminal and illegal aggression\u201d against Iran, saying it was launched without any reason.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Pezeshkian praised Pakistan\u2019s effective role in mediating a ceasefire between Iran and the United States and hosting their subsequent peace talks.<\/p>\n
Munir arrived in Tehran on Wednesday, leading a high-level delegation as part of ongoing efforts to mediate U.S.-Iran talks.<\/p>\n
Pezeshkian noted that the war is in no party\u2019s interest, adding that the United States will not achieve victory and that other countries will suffer serious material damage and losses.<\/p>\n
He said the United States and Israel have resorted to \u201chostile and provocative\u201d actions since he took office in July 2024, adding that Iran has never sought instability in the region and seeks brotherly ties with neighbouring and regional states.<\/p>\n
He underlined Iranian distrust of the United States due to repeated violations of commitments, including attacks during negotiations and assassinations of officials.<\/p>\n
