Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun told a regular press briefing that China maintains a \u201cprudent and responsible\u201d policy on military exports and strictly regulates them under domestic laws and international obligations.<\/p>\n
His remarks came after media reports cited US President Donald Trump as threatening to impose tariffs of up to 50 percent on Chinese goods if Washington determines that China is providing weapons to Iran.
\n\u201cChina has always exercised strict control over the export of military products,\u201d Guo said, adding that allegations of Chinese military assistance to Iran are \u201cgroundless.\u201d<\/p>\n
