Speaking during a private TV Ramadan transmission, Kashif said that while weddings are emotional occasions and families naturally wish to fulfil their desires, it is equally important to keep spending under control.<\/p>\n
Responding to a question about managing wedding costs, he suggested avoiding expensive outfits and jewellery, noting that designer dresses and even gold and silver ornaments are now available on rent.<\/p>\n
\u201cFulfil your wishes, but also be mindful of expenses,\u201d he said, adding that unnecessary spending can be avoided with better planning.<\/p>\n
On the tradition of giving gifts to the groom\u2019s family, Kashif said his own family had clearly divided responsibilities during his daughter\u2019s wedding. \u201cWhat was the groom\u2019s responsibility, they handled it, and what was ours, we fulfilled,\u201d he explained, adding that the old practice of providing clothes for extended relatives is gradually fading.<\/p>\n
He further pointed out that combining events such as mehndi and wedding into a single ceremony \u2014 often referred to as \u201cShendi\u201d \u2014 can significantly reduce costs.<\/p>\n
Kashif\u2019s remarks come in the backdrop of discussions surrounding the wedding of his daughter Rabeca Khan, which had drawn criticism on social media over multiple events and perceived lavish spending.<\/p>\n
