They warned that failure to hold elections on time could create a constitutional vacuum in the province.<\/p>\n<p>The petition requested that the court direct the Election Commission to ensure timely elections and instruct the provincial government to take all necessary measures to facilitate their conduct.<\/p>\n<p>It further urged the court to issue appropriate orders to the concerned parties for setting a schedule for holding the local body elections in a timely manner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A petition has been filed in the Peshawar High Court seeking the timely conduct of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
